Covid-19: Diam announces aid package for private sector in Oman

Muscat: The Public Authority for Water (Diam) has approved a three-month package of facilities aimed at alleviating the financial burden of companies and institutions in the private sector, hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

The package will cover the health care, private education, travel, tourism, banking, and journalism sectors.

Diam said in a statement: "The authority approved a package of facilities for a period of three months, which aims to reduce the financial burden of the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, for companies and institutions in the private sector covered by the decision of the Supreme Committee, according to the following conditions:

1. The institution should be within the definition of small and medium enterprises affected by the pandemic, such as having to reduce salaries and other conditions.

2. The institution should specialise in one of the following sectors: health care, private education, travel, tourism, banking and journalism.

Diam stated that these categories of subscribers should send the following documents: the national fuel support card, the personal card, the business card, a copy of the water bill for individuals, a copy of a valid commercial registry, an affiliation certificate of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the water account number, via e-mail to [email protected], no later than 18 July 2020.
