Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index closed at 3,493.59 points, down 0.27 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia index ended down by 0.08 per cent at 521.24 points.
Oman National, up 3.77 per cent was the top gainer while. Al Maha Petroleum, down 10.00 per cent was the top loser. Gulf Investment was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 467 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.0 million, with more than 7.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 10 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR233,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR190,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR43,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed down by 0.41 per cent at 5, 5638.68 points, from the previous close. Gulf Investment, Al Sharqia Investment, Al Madina Takaful and National Bank of Oman were up by 3.51 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Ominvest, Oman United and Ahli Bank were down by 10.00 per cent, 4.35 per cent, 2.91 per cent, 1.67 per cent and 1.63 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 3,969.08 points, down 0.13 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic was up by 1.36 per cent. Oman Cable was down by 2.08 per cent.
Services index was down 0.67 per cent before closing at 1,553.19 points. Oman National Engineer and Al Jazeera Service were up by 3.77 per cent and 1.78 per cent respectively. Al Maha Petroleum, Al Suwadi Power and Musandam Power were down by 6.67 per cent, 1.89 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively.
