New travel measures in Thailand; tourists not allowed: Oman Embassy

Muscat: Thailand authorities have announced new travel restrictions for tourists that include banning tourists from entering the country and limiting flights for the evacuation of its citizens only.

The Sultanate Embassy in Bangkok said in a statement, "The Thailand authorities have announced new measures and procedures which allow the entry of some categories of foreigners in a limited manner, including patients and those who have work permits or residency permits. Tourists are not allowed to enter the country at the present moment."

"Travel is currently limited to the evacuation flights for Thailand citizens from abroad," the embassy added.
