Muscat: Dar Al Wefaq at the Ministry of Social Development received 19 cases of human trafficking during 2019.
According to the annual report issued by the ministry, all the women who were received by the house were over the age of 19 years.
The Ministry clarified that all cases of human trafficking received in Dar Al Wefaq house are people of non-Omani nationalities and in a breakdown revealed that 13 cases involved trafficking for sexual exploitation, 4 cases of people being forced to work and two cases related to trafficking of children.
"The women were shifted to the house by the Public Prosecution and the Royal Oman Police," the Ministry of Social Development added.
