Muttrah records lowest number of COVID cases in Muscat Governorate

Muscat: Wilayat Muttrah recorded just 27 new cases of COVID-19 among the 453 fresh ones reported in the Governorate of Muscat, making it the wilayat with the least number of cases reported in the capital on Monday, 6 July.

The highest number of cases in the capital were reported in Seeb (171), which accounted for 37.7 percent of new cases reported, followed by Baushar, which had a significantly lower number at 92 (20.3 percent of new cases).

Wilayat Muscat saw another 68 cases (15 percent), while Amerat had a further 52 (11.4 percent). In Quriyat, 43 new cases were uncovered, accounting for just under 10 percent of fresh cases reported in the capital.

Outside Muscat, North Al Batinah reported a large spike in infections as 317 new cases were reported, followed by South Batinah at 277. The southern Dhofar region has another 161 cases, while an additional 100 were reported in Al Wusta.

Ad Dakhiliyah saw another 95 cases reported. 54 cases were uncovered in South Sharqiyah, and 48 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in North Sharqiyah. The Dhahirah governorate saw another 35 cases, while in Buraimi, 14 new cases were confirmed. Three additional cases have been seen in the Sultanate’s northern Governorate of Musandam.
