COVID-19: Over 3000 recovery cases reported in the past four days

Muscat: In the past four days, over 3,000 COVID-19 patients have recovered and about 4,000 new cases registered, the government data show.

According to the Ministry of Health Tarassud app, a total of 16,787 patients are still battling COVID-19 whereas 21,200 cases have successfully won the battle. That means people who have recovered are more than the people who are still suffering from the infection.

The Muscat Governorate has registered 562 new cases, and 493 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours that brings the total recoveries to more than 57 per cent of cases. The total number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 has reached 12,918 in the governorate.

North Al Batinah registered 230 new cases on Sunday, and now has a total of 2,660 cases, 1,796 of these have recovered.

South Al Batinah which has a total of 3,101 cases, registered 165 fresh cases of COVID-19, and 47 of them have recovered with 62 recoveries in a single day.

In South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, more than 60 per cent of cases have recovered while 27 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours to reach a total of 833. North Al Sharqiyah Governorate registered 23 new cases to reach a total of 663 cases, and a total of 301 recoveries.

Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, which has a total of 1,687 cases, registered 108 new cases and 24 new recoveries on Sunday.

In Dhofar Governorate, which has a total of 643 cases, 175 of them have recovered. Al Dhahirah Governorate has registered 22 new cases to reach a total of 414 cases.

Al Wusta Governorate has recorded 1,193 cases, with 14 new COVID-19 and 766 recoveries. Musandam Governorate has so far recorded the lowest cases of infection, with 16 cases of infection and 10 recoveries.
In general, until Sunday, 38,150 cases have been registered in Oman, 163 succumbed to the infection, out of which 114 of these patients were from the Muscat Governorate.

South Al Batinah recorded 18 deaths, North Al Batinah has seen 12 deaths so far, and four patients have died in both South Al Sharqiyah and Al Buraimi Governorate.

Musandam and Al Wusta Governorates have not registered any deaths until today.
