Hamriya, Wadi Kabir to reopen from today

Muscat: Hamriya and Wadi Kabir Industrial Area will be reopened to the public from today, after they had previously been shut to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
The Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 has allowed these areas to be reopened again, while following the precautions put in place to stop infection from spreading.
“After reviewing the epidemiological situation in Wilayat of Muttrah, it was decided to open the industrial area of Wadi Kabir, and open the Hamriya area, as of June 28,” said Dr Saif bin Salim Al Abri, the Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at the Ministry of Health.
“Muscat Municipality will coordinate on the type of activities that can be resumed,” he added.
However, he said that shops operating in these areas have to follow the rules that had been applied across the governorate, which included only operating until 6pm on weekdays, and staying shut on the weekends.
Al Abri went on to say: “Souq Muttrah is a traditional market and it has not yet been decided to open it.”
