Oman's consumer protection authority issues guidelines for sale of beauty products

Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) issued a decision regulating the circulation of some beauty products and a fine of up to OMR 1,000 in case of violation.

According to the first article of the decision, it is prohibited to trade in beauty products if they contain Hydroquinone except after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the use of products containing Mercury is required to obtain the approval of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoCI).

Article 2 states, if anyone who violates the provisions of this decision will be liable to a fine of no less than OMR 50 and not more than OMR 1,000 and doubled in case of repetition.
