MOH, Vale Oman enter quarantine centre furnishing deal

Muscat: Vale Oman has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health to furnish the Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Sohar to be operated by the ministry as quarantine and isolation space for people with COVID-19 during the outbreak.
The centre was established by Jusoor Foundation as a Drug Rehabilitation Centre and was funded by the three-founding companies of Jusoor; OQ, Vale and Sohar Aluminum.
The centre will be equipped at an estimated cost of $400,000 after a thorough risk and capacity assessment for all rquirements including medical equipment/facilities and basic amenities.
The assessment will be conducted alongwith the Ministry of Health and will take into account the latest available information on transmission and severity characteristics of COVID-19 as well as impact of containment measures at local, nationaland international levels.
This cooperation translates the company’s belief in the importance of supporting the health sector during the outbreak of this pandemic and driven by its social responsibility to support the local communities.
