This wilayat records maximum number of new cases in Oman

Muscat: The Wilayat of Bausher in Muscat recorded the highest number of new COVID-19 cases on Monday, according to data from the government.
The Tarassud app, which is operated by the Ministry of Health and provides regular updates on the COVID situation in Oman, shows that of the 608 new cases reported in Muscat on Monday, June 1, 2020, 200 were from Bausher.
Muttrah was a close second with 197 cases, and the Wilayat of Seeb came in third, with 172 cases. 21 cases were reported in Al Amerat, 11 in Muscat, and seven cases were reported in Quriyat. Muscat still continues to have about three quarters of COVID-19 cases in Oman, with 9,256 out of 12,223 cases, or 75.72 per cent.
North Batinah is at a distance second, with 842 cases, or 6.8 percent of COVID-19 cases. South Batinah has 814 cases, or 6.6 per cent of reported cases in the country. There are 310 cases of the disease in South Sharqiyah, amounting to 2.5 per cent of cases, while in Ad Dakhiliyah, a total of 513 cases have been reported, or 4.1 per cent of cases.
The number of reported cases in North Sharqiyah are significantly lesser, with 136 cases or 1.11 per cent, with a similar per cent of cases found in Al Buraimi (1.02 per cent, or 125 cases). The number of cases in Al Wusta (21), Dhofar (29) and Musandam (eight) continue to remain below the triple-figure mark.
The Ministry of Health also asked everyone to adhere to the social and physical distancing instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the ministry, as well as to stay home and not go out unless necessary.
So far, in Oman, 12,223 new cases have been recorded. 2,682 people have recovered from the disease and 50 people have unfortunately lost their lives to it.
