Oman's share index ends marginally lower

The MSM30 index closed at 3,534.91 points, down 0.27 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended lower by 0.06 per cent at 517.14 points. Al Suwadi Power, up 3.64 per cent was the top gainer while Oman Qatar Insurance, down 6.98 per cent was the top loser. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 163 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR0.89 million, with more than 7.82 million shares changing hands. Out of 27 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 11 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR53,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR26,000 followed by local investors for OMR26,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,577.46 points, up 0.84 per cent. Oman Qatar Insurance, Gulf Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat were down by 6.98 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 1.41 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,086.34 points, up 0.70 per cent. Oman Cement was up by 3.64 per cent. Oman Chlorine, Raysut Cement and Al Anwar Ceramic were down by 5.66 per cent 2.27 per cent and 2.19 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 2.48 per cent before closing at 1,612.54 points. Al Suwadi Power and Musandam Power were up by 3.64 per cent and 3.57 per cent respectively. Sembcorp Salalah, Omantel and Ooredoo were down by 2.75 per cent, 0.63 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively.
