Missing work due to weather conditions, not considered absent: Ministry of Civil Service

Muscat: An employee who is unable to reach his workplace due to weather conditions, will not be considered absent, the Ministry of Civil Service explained.

In response to the inquiries received about the difficulty of employees reaching their workplace due to climatic conditions in Dhofar Governorate, the ministry said, "It has been agreed upon that if climatic conditions prevent the employee from reaching the workplace, then it be considered as a reason outside the employee’s will, and hence he is not to be considered as absent from work."
