Russian university seeks educational ties with Oman

Moscow: Praising the Sultanate as one of the most stable countries in the region, Russian academician Dr. Galina Olegovna, who specialises in Arab world affairs has expressed the desire for cementing educational ties between the two countries.
She made the statement in her speech during a celebration organised by the Russian University of the Friendship of Nations (The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia) on the occasion of its 60th anniversary since inception.
Pointing out that the Sultanate has several achievements in the field of education, she said that the Russian University would seek to establish cooperation ties with Oman's educational institutions.
Dr. Galina who is the head of Department of Linguistics at Russian University of the Friendship of Nations said that the Sultan Qaboos University came on top of the educational institutions with which the Russian universities seek to engage with in addition to other universities concerned with education of non-Arabic language speakers.
She said that "there is a plan to send a delegation from the university to the Sultanate to hold talks and sign cooperation agreements including organising sessions in Arabic language for Russian students and Russian language for Omani students".
