Coronavirus: Muscat continues to report highest number of cases

Muscat: On Saturday, 284 new cases of COVID-19, out of the total of 463 new cases were reported in Muscat Governorate. The second highest number of cases was registered by North Al Batinah, at 65. These figures were released in the Ministry of Health's app, Tarassud. The total number of cases in Oman has now reached 7,257 with 1848 recoveries and 34 deaths.

Out of the total number of cases, Muscat Governorate accounts for 5,173 with 2,929 of them in Mutrah and 1,009 cases in wilayat Seeb. 1,005 cases have been recorded in Boushar and 171 in Al Amirat. Wilayat of Muscat registered 49 cases and 10 cases have been recorded in wilayat of Quriyat. A total of 28 patients have died in Muscat governorate while 908 have recovered from the disease.

In North Al Batinah, wilayat of Suwaiq saw 15 new cases, Sohar saw 27 new cases, 3 new cases were recorded in Shinas and 11 new cases in the wilayat of Liwa. Al Khaburah registered two new cases.

In South Al Batinah, 250 cases are registered in Barka and 85 cases in wilayat of Masnaah, 70 cases in wilayat of Suwaiq and 28 in wilayat of Nakhal, 11 cases in wilayat of Wadi Al Maawil and 45 cases in wilayat of Al Awabi.

Al Dakhiliyah Governorate registered 24 new cases and the number of cases in South Al Sharqiyah governorate reached 232. North Al Sharqiyah recorded 50 cases while 69 were recorded in Buraimi governorate while 86 cases are registered in Al Dhahirah governorate. Dhofar governorate has 23 confirmed infections.

Al Wusta governorate is still free of coronavirus cases and Musandam Governorate recorded the lowest numbers, with only one active patient and five recoveries.
