Shops operating illegally, raided in Oman

Muscat: A residential house in Buraimi Governorate was raided for violation of decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19.

Buraimi Municipality said in a statement: "In coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities, Buraimi Municipality has raided an apartment house used by expatriate workers to practice the sewing profession in light of the closure of women's tailor shops as precautionary measures during the coronavirus outbreak. All tools and equipment were confiscated and legal procedures completed against violators."

"The Municipality has also raided a furniture and carpet store operating in contravention of the decisions of the Supreme Committee and the Ministerial Decision, legal procedures have been taken against them," the statement added.
