Ministry of Education issues circular to private schools

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has issued a circular to all private schools except expatriate schools in the Sultanate to not violate the decisions of the Supreme Committee who is in charge of dealing with COVID 19.

A circular issued by the Ministry of Education said:“The private schools wishing to provide summer programmes remotely must obtain the Ministry’s approval.”

The circular pointed out that: “This comes in light of the decision of the Supreme Committee charged to deal with COVID 19, issued on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, which includes the end of the academic year 2019/2020 for all students in public and private schools. And on Thursday, May 7, 2020, is the last day of the school year.”

“Whereas, the decisions included all private schools in all categories, pre-school, monolingual, bilingual and international schools, with the exception of international schools of expatriates.” the circular added.
