Oman's share index ends marginally higher

The MSM30 index closed at 3,602.54 points, up 1.70 per cent. The Sharia Index closed up by 0.53 per cent at 509.92 points. Bank Dhofar, up 10 per cent, was the top gainer while Musandam Power, down 5.71 per cent was the top loser. Al Batinah Power was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 610 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.18 million, with more than 8.10 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 22 advanced, 4 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR96,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR55,000 followed by domestic investors for OMR41,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,629.64 points, up 1.23 per cent. Bank Dhofar, Oman United Insurance, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Madina Investment, and Oman Qatar Insurance were up by 10 per cent, 4.91 per cent, 4.55 per cent, 4.17 per cent, and 2.67 per cent respectively. There were no losing stocks in the sector.
Industrial Index closed at 3,930.49 points, up 0.1.21 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel Products, Raysut Cement, Oman Cement, Oman Fisheries, and Galfar Engineering were up by 6.38 per cent, 5.82 per cent, 4.09 per cent, 3.53 per cent, and 1.82 per cent respectively. Oman Flour Mills and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 1.79 per cent and 0.78 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 2.17 per cent before closing at 1,773.86 points. Al Jazeera Services, Renaissance Services, Phoenix Power, Al Batinah Power, and Al Suwadi Power were up by 9.74 per cent, 8.33 per cent, 5.56 per cent, 5.36 per cent, and 5.26 per cent respectively. Musandam Power Company and Majan College were down by 5.7 per cent and 1.27 per cent respectively.
