Coronavirus: Government quashes rumour on expat worker escape

Muscat: The Government Communications Centre (GCC) on Saturday clarified that news of the escape of an expatriate worker from Muscat to Wilayat Yanqul is a rumour.

A statement issued online by the GCC said, "There is no truth in the circulated news about an expatriate worker escaping from Muscat to Wilayat Yanqul in Al Dhahirah Governorate.”

"We ask everyone to take information from official sources, because spreading rumors exposes you to legal problems,” the statement added.
