Muscat: Arrangements are being made to bring home Omani citizens in Pakistan and New Zealand, owing to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement issued by the Consulate of Oman in Australia said, “An additional flight from Auckland in New Zealand will be organised on April 10 in coordination with the Consulate General and Qatar Airways."
"Students who are studying in Australia who have recently expressed their desire to return to Oman can also complete the procedures for booking into one of the departures from the cities of Melbourne, Sydney and Perth," added the Sultanate’s representative in Australia.
Similarly, SalamAir will be operating flights to Pakistan to bring home Omani nationals who wish to return.
A statement from the Embassy of Oman in Islamabad said: “The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Islamabad and the General Consulate in Karachi would like to announce to the Omani citizens present in Pakistan that the official directives have been issued from the Sultanate to conduct a special flight via Salam Air to Karachi to return them to the Sultanate."
"The embassy and consulate call upon all Omani citizens wishing to return to the Sultanate to go to Karachi, from where the flight will be taking off on Friday morning, corresponding to April 10, 2020," the statement added.
