Government denies social media rumour on oil field worker

Muscat: The Governorate Communication Center (GC), has denied what was circulated on social media about an oil field employee suspected of having coronavirus.

In a statement issued online, GC said: “A case of coronavirus ( COVID-19) was suspected with a worker at a site related to an oil company which immediately implemented the procedures recommended by the Ministry of Health.

“The worker was sent to a special institutional quarantine, while the other workers were sent to another institutional quarantine. After examining the suspected case it appeared that the worker was not infected with Corona virus (COVID-19)” GC added.
