Oman's share index ends marginally lower

The MSM30 index closed at 3,424.99 points, down 0.68 per cent. The Sharia Index closed lower by 0.08 per cent at 504.07 points. Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, up 4.17 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman Refreshments, down 9.09 per cent was the top loser. National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as turnover.
A total number of 174 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR611,000 with more than 4.74 million shares changing hands. Out of 26 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 9 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR322,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR195,000 followed by domestic investors for OMR127,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,413.06 points, down 0.54 per cent. Oman & Emirates Investment Holding and Al Anwar Holding were up by 4.17 per cent, and 1.52 per cent respectively. Takaful Oman Insurance, Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman, and Bank Nizwa were down by 4 per cent, 2.48 per cent, 1.88 per cent, and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,870.41 points, down 0.83 per cent. Oman Cement is the only gainer and closed up by 1.38 per cent. Oman Refreshment and Galfar Engineering were the only sector losers and closed lower by 9.09 per cent, and 2.22 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.34 per cent before closing at 1,682.29 points. There were no sector gainers. Al Batinah Power, OIFC, and Al Suwadi Power were down by 3.92 per cent, 3.37 per cent, and 1.96 per cent respectively.
