Oman's share index ends marginally lower

The MSM30 index closed at 3,448.29 points, down 0.55 per cent. The Sharia Index closed higher by 0.23 per cent at 504.46 points. Renaissance Services, up 9.68 per cent, was the top gainer while Gulf Hotels (Oman), down 9.97 per cent was the top loser. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 324 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR735,000, with more than 5.38 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 13 declined and 8 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR156,000 while domestic investors were net buyers for OMR133,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR24,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,442.54 points, down 1.36 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, DIDIC, and Bank Nizwa were up by 3.13 per cent, 1.37 per cent, and 1.12 per cent respectively. Ominvest, Oman United Insurance, Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, Bank Dhofar, and National Bank of Oman were down by 6.98 per cent, 6.49 per cent, 4 per cent, 3.23 per cent, and 3.03 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,902.92 points, down 1.70 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the only gainer today and was up by 2.27 per cent. Oman Refreshment, Raysut Cement, and Oman Cement were down by 9.09 per cent, 7.32 per cent, and 0.46 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 1.22 per cent before closing at 1,688.02 points. Renaissance Services, Omantel, Ooredoo, Musandam Power Company, and OIFC were up by 9.68 per cent, 4.24 per cent, 3.68 per cent, 3.57 per cent, and 1.14 per cent respectively. Gulf Hotels, Al Jazeera Services, Al Suwadi Power, and Al Batinah Power were down by 9.97 per cent, 5.3 per cent, 3.77 per cent, and 1.92 per cent respectively.
