Thank you His Majesty for bringing us home

Muscat: Omani students studying in the US, who were flown back to the Sultanate to avoid infection from COVID-19, have thanked His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik for bringing them back home.
Abdullah Yusuf Al Subhi, who returned from the US last Friday, is currently staying in a hotel that was set up to quarantine returnees. He said: “The cultural attache in Washington did all the necessary procedures to ensure every student was able to return to our homeland, and to receive a return ticket. I hope this situation becomes easier for those students who have previously booked, and are still waiting for their tickets.”
Isra Al Hashmi, who returned on the evening of 24 March, added: “Firstly, I would like to thank God for helping me reach Oman. Yes, we faced difficulties until we were able to book flight tickets from the US to Oman, because of flight cancellations.
“Before I say anything else, I would like to praise the procedures that were taken in Muscat International Airport, which included all preventative measures that were taken, as well as instructions received from the Ministry of Health, and on social media,” she added.
Having returned from the US state of Pennsylvania, Ismail Ibrahim Al Abdali explained: “God willing, we peacefully reached our homeland on Tuesday evening, and the flight was good. Our return journey was made easier, because we were able to come back as soon as possible. We were provided the information and procedures we needed to follow, while in our host country, to ensure our safety and avoid infection by the coronavirus.”
Saeed Khalifa Al Kasabi, who also returned from Pennsylvania, added: “Words of thanks to those who are fighting COVID-19 are not enough. When I boarded the plane, I received forms in which I was required to fill in my medical details, whether I had been in contact with anyone who’d been infected, and if I was suffering from any symptoms of coronavirus. A team from the Ministry of Health received us at Muscat International Airport. While taking our temperature, they explained to us the importance of quarantine and about coronavirus.”
