Coronavirus: Call for blood donations in Oman

Muscat: The Department of Blood Bank Services has called on members of the public to donate blood.

The DBBS announcement read: "We appeal to all citizens and residents to donate at the central Blood Bank in Bawsher and the regional blood banks in all governorates so that the blood supply doesn't stop for medical patients."

"In order to follow the precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus, it allows a limited number of donors to be present in the blood bank at the same time. Accordingly, blood donors are kindly requested to contact the blood bank to book an appointment for blood donation and to ensure that they are not late by calling 94555648."

Adding,"A list of precautionary measures have been taken to avoid COVID-19 infections so the donors must not donate if they returned from COVID-19 risk area less than 28 days before donation, or have contact with a confirmed cases with COVID-19 from less than 28 days, and has been less than 3 months from recovering from COVID-19 infections."
