Back2Business discusses overcoming challenges in Oman

Muscat: Oman’s business community came together to tackle the topic of ‘Challenge’ at this year’s Back2Business, Oman’s Largest Business Networking Event,

Over 350 guests attended the event hosted by the Grand Hyatt Muscat. Guests included influential personnel, dignitaries and members the business community who networked with businesspersons from across a multitude of sectors.

The theme of ‘Overcoming Challenge’ promoted discussions encouraged by an inspirational address by the guest of honour, H.E. Talal Al-Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Planning. He said that Oman has faced greater economic challenges in the past including armed conflict and low oil prices, during a time when Oman's economy was less resilient than it is now. “We will overcome challenge again”.

“It was great to see so many of our members at the event, engaging with members from other business groups and making new contacts. I am often asked if real opportunities arise at these sorts of events - I identified two excellent business leads for Australian companies. Certainly a worthwhile networking event for me,” Susan Rae, Chairman ABGO.

“It’s an occasion where useful, insightful dialogue can be exchanged, whether you are an employee, an SME or a global corporation,” Eva Stanley-Jones, Event Organizer.

Guests in attendance were able to meet with hundreds of individuals and companies, strengthening the view that effective networking can be the answer to establishing new relationships whilst re-engaging with existing connections.

“I have noticed that in these challenging times there is a positive reaction from the Oman market; companies are becoming more creative in order to promote themselves differently. So getting out there and networking at B2B is becoming more and more popular” Nicole Bradbury-Beck, EBPG.

Four business groups present in the event were The Oman American Business Center, the British Business Forum, the European Business Persons Group and the Australian Business Group Oman, the evening presented an opportunity to network mingle and connect within spectacular surroundings.

Each of the four business groups is actively recruiting new members to network, mingle and develop collaborations. Businesspersons in Muscat, who are interested in joining and attending such events, contact: [email protected]
