Hail and thundershowers likely to hit Oman

Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has warned of rainy conditions over Oman on Saturday.

In its weather forecast for Saturday, PACA said: “Partly cloudy to cloudy skies over governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Dakhliya, North Al Sharqiya, South Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta and Dhofar with chance of rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh winds and hail. Chance of dust rising wind over desert and open areas.”

“Over the coastal areas of Arabian sea wind will be southerly to southwesterly light to moderate occasionally fresh. Over rest of the Sultanate wind will be southeasterly light to moderate occasionally fresh. Strong down draft during thunder showers.” PACA added

Also, PACA also warned of poor visibility due to dust.
