Cricket: Muscat, Enhance Eagles and ISC women win low-scoring games

MUSCAT: Sandeep Goud and Munis Ansari helped Muscat CT beat Enhance by 4 wickets in a low-scoring keenly-fought Premier Division game at the Ministry of Sports (MOS) grassy ground 1 in Amerat on Friday.
Opting to bowl first Muscat dismissed Enhance for a modest total of 154 in the final over with Munis taking 3 for 31 and Rajeshkumar Ranpura and Sandeep picking up 2 wickets each. Khurram Khan was the only Enhance batsman to have impressed, scoring 58 off 95.
Muscat stuttered before succeeding in winning the game by 6 wickets, scoring 158 for 6 in 44 overs. Sandeep topscored with an unbeaten 31 off 37 while Ashish remained not out on 27. Mehran Khan bagged 3 wickets for 37 runs.
Brief scores: Enhance 154 all out in 49.1 overs (Khurram Khan 58 – 3x4, 2x6. Munis Ansari 3-31, Rajesh Ranpura 2-16, Sandeep Goud 2-33) lost to Muscat CT 158 for 6 in 44 overs (Sandeep Goud 31 not out – 6x4, Ashish Odedara 27 not out 2x4, Vaibhav Wategaonkar 25 – 3x4. Mehran Khan 3-37) by 4 wickets.
In another low-scoring A Division thriller, MDC Enhance Eagles defeated Platinum Services Diamond (PSD) by 11 runs at MOS ground 2 on Friday.
Batting first, Eagles failed to fly high, folding up for only 141 in 43 overs. Pradeep Kumar contributed 33 while Sudeep Chavan chipped ip with a useful 30. Chadith Lakmal claimed 3 wickets for 27 runs while Tauseef Ahmed and Imran Rijvi took 2 wickets each.
Amandeep Singh bagged 4 wickets in an impressive spell as PSD was bowled out for a paltry 130 in the 32nd over. Tauseef Ahmed and Imran Rijvi bowled well too, taking two wickets each. Vineet Pal Singh batted brilliantly for his strokeful 64 off 57.

Chadith Lakmal 3-27, Tauseef Ahmed 2-16, Imran Rijvi 2-24) beat PSD 130 all out in 31.5 overs (Vineet Pal Singh 64 – 4x4, 5x6, Ahammad Karim 30 – 3x4, 1x6. Amanpreet Singh 4-38, Mohammed Mohsin 2-08, Parameshwaran Shakar 2-28) by 11 runs.
ISC women win
In yet another low-scoring match in the Women’s League, Indian Social Club eased past Indian School Wadi Kabir in a 9-wicket victory at MOS ground 2 on Wednesday.
Batting first, ISWK could score only 82 for 2 in 20 overs which ISC surpassed in only the 9th over thanks to Geeta Jagadish’s unbeaten 29 and Trupti Pawde’s 21 not out.
