Oman court gives verdict in ‘rotten rice case’

Al Rustaq: Al Rustaq Appeals Court has pronounced its judgment in the case known as 'rotten rice case’.
Earlier, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection, represented by the Consumer Protection Department in Barka had arrested seven suspects while packing 22 tonnes of rotten rice.
Al Rustaq Appeals Court supported the judgment of the primary court which detained the suspects. The court also amended the judgment pronounced and sentenced each of the three detainees to three years in jail and a fine of OMR15,000 each. The judgment also stipulated final deportation of the detainees and closure of the store for three months.
