Speaking to Times of Oman, a senior official at the Ministry of Education also denied the news. According to social media rumours, a teacher in a school in Muscat was reportedly tested positive of coronavirus. However, on Thursday, the school management confirmed that the teacher was only suffering from a mild fever.

“The doctor gave him a two-week leave as a precaution,” the management said. On the same day, a student in the school fainted due to a health condition that is not related to coronavirus, the school official said.

“He (the student) was treated at the school and then transferred to the nearest health center. The school administration has made sure of the student’s health,” the official added.
