Madayn Industrial Academy organises workshop on coaching

Muscat: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, represented by Madayn Industrial Academy, organised on Monday a workshop titled ‘Coaching for Results’ at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The workshop, which was moderated by Eng. Nasser Al Mabsali, Director of Projects at Madayn, aimed at elaborating on the role played by coaching in developing the skills and experience of the individuals.
The workshop underscored several aspects including the definition of coaching, its significance to the coach, coachee and organisation, coaching values, learning styles, identification of coaching needs, instructional coaching, corrective coaching and developmental coaching practice. Al Mabsali pointed out that coaching is an effective tool to increase productivity and get results, decrease stress level at work, facilitate work process, empower individuals, and increase team unity and cooperation.
He also added that the coach develops through coaching several aspects including self-awareness and learning skills, clarification of roles and responsibilities, ability to identify solutions, and provision of an ideal environment for the coachee to take risks and make mistakes. Moreover, organisations also benefit from coaching in terms of boosting creativity and learning, enhancing organisational performance, enhancing relations between individuals at work environment, improving outcomes and return on investment, among other aspects.
It should be noted that this workshop is part of a lineup of Madayn programmes to develop the human cadres in its various industrial cities during 2020.
