More then OMR 100,000 recovered by PACP for consumers in Oman

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Department in Barka wilayat has managed to settle complaints and recovered upto OMR 101.022,650 for consumers in various sectors, as a part of the efforts made by the department in resolving complaints and reports received by consumers.

According to the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP): “OMR (45.655) were retrieved from the sector of manpower recruitment offices, in the construction sector an amount of OMR (20.032), in the furniture and furnishings sector OMR (9.861), In the aluminium workshops, blacksmithing and carpentry sector OMR (7.655), the travel and tourism services sector OMR (6.638), the electronic devices sector OMR (4.125), in the telephone and services sector OMR (1.751) and an amount of OMR (1.616) was recovered in the other commodities sector.”

“In the vehicle repair workshops sector OMR (1.609) were retrieved, while in the other services sector an amount of OMR (1.514), the textiles and its services sector OMR (333), in the automotive sector and its services OMR (192), and finally OMR (38) were recovered in the tire sector.” PACP added

Youssef Hamad Al Riyami, assistant director of the Consumer Protection Department in Barka said: “The authority strive to restore the rights of consumers and enable them to benefit from the services of suppliers with goods and services, and to resolve all complaints and reports received within the framework of the consumer protection law, confirming that the commission is continuing on its efforts to guarantee consumer rights in cooperation with the competent authorities that have had an impact in resolving many cases.”
