Discussion on draft law to combat hidden trade

Muscat: The Economic Committee of the State Council yesterday discussed the draft law on combatting hidden trade.
It was referred by the Council of Ministers based on Article (58) bis (37) of the Basic Law of the State, which states that: “Draft laws are forwarded by the Council of Ministers to Majlis Al Shura, which must decide on it by approval or amendment within three months at the most from the date of referral to it, then refer it to the State Council, which must decide to approve or amend it within forty-five days at the most from the date of referral to it.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Harthy in the presence of members of the Committee, and a number of General Secretariat employees in the Council.
