Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4452.91 points, up by 0.03 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 603.43 points, down by 0.12 per cent. Oman Fisheries was the most active in terms of volume while National Bank Of Oman was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Dhofar Insurance, up by 4.90 per cent, while the top loser was Sharqiyah Desalination which closed lower by 3.06 per cent.
A total number of 543 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.22 million with more than 9.58 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 8 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR128,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR52,000 while Omani investors remained as net buyers for OMR180,000 worth of shares
Financial Index gained 0.20 per cent to close at 6929.47 points. Dhofar Insurance, Al Madina Investment, National Bank Of Oman, Bank Nizwa and Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding went up by 4.9 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.67 per cent, 1.16 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank and Al Anwar Holding were down 2.3 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.09 per cent to close at 5,385.82 points. Oman Fisheries was up by 1.32 per cent. Raysut Cement and Oman Cement were down 1.49 per cent and 1.21 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.04 per cent to close at 2,427.85 points. OIFC and Phoenix Power were up by 1.11 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively. Sharqiyah Desalination, Omantel and Al Suwadi Power were down by 3.06 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.89 per cent respectively.
