Singapore, Thailand missions of Oman issue Coronavirus alerts

Following the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Oman’s diplomatic missions in Thailand and Singapore, have advised citizens traveling to South East Asia, to exercise caution, and to avoid crowded places as well as to wear protective masks.

Thailand has reported 25 cases so far, the Oman embassy in Bangkok stated. In addition, the Consulate of Oman in Singapore said the city-state has raised the emergency level to orange, after 33 cases were confirmed.

Meanwhile, in the Sultanate, the Directorate-General of Health Services (DGHS) in both Muscat and Dhofar conducted awareness campaigns about the disease, at various government and educational institutions, and through community members. Readiness of healthcare teams to tackle any possible infection in Oman was also reviewed.
