Oman supports Palestinian cause at Parliamentary Union meeting

Amman: The Sultanate, represented by Majlis Al Shura participated in the 30th emergency meeting of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIU) on the support of the Palestinians for their cause in Amman, Jordan.
The Sultanate’s delegation to the meeting was chaired by Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Mawali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura, accompanied by a number of members and the Secretary General of Majlis.
The opening session started with recital of verses of the Holy Quran for late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour followed by the speech of the Chairman of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIU), Atef Al Tarawneh, who spoke on the immense loss of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour who, he said, has been a man of peace and wisdom. He also spoke on the efforts of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour in the region and the support to the Palestinian cause.
Meanwhile, Khalid bin Hilal Al Mawali gave a speech in which he pointed to the Sultanate’s stance and the support to the Palestinian cause and to the Palestinians in establishment of their independent state.
Al Malawi also pointed to the Deal of the Century, supported by Israel, to be an unacceptable deal as long as it does not consider aspects we strongly believe in, including Al Quds as the capital for Palestine, the return of refugees and establishment of the independent State of Palestine.
