Cooperation among anti-monopoly agencies of GCC stressed

Kuwait: The Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention Centre (CPMPC) participated in the 1st Gulf Competition Agencies Conference, which was held in the sisterly state of Kuwait under the title “Competition Policy Towards New Horizons.”
The conference, organised by the Kuwaiti Competition Protection Agency, in cooperation with the World Bank, sought to support aspects of cooperation and communication with international and regional organisations and relevant agencies in the GCC countries, in addition to exchanging expertise and information in the field of competition policies, opportunities and challenges facing the GCC countries.
The conference stressed the importance of establishing a competition network for the GCC countries in order to exchange information periodically among various competitions agencies in a manner that supports the work of these institutions in all sectors related to the protection of competition.
The participants recommended holding an annual meeting to discuss the most important issues and how to analyse them legally and economically, the importance of working on joint studies at the regional level in mutual interest and creating an electronic platform to exchange information and the latest issues.
