His Majesty thanked by French President for help in hostage rescue from Yemen

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement this evening regarding the release of a French hostage in Yemen.

The statement read "In compliance with the orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, following the request of the French government to assist in the release of a French citizen being held in Yemen, the competent authorities in the Sultanate coordinated with the Yemeni authorities in Sana'a to secure his release. He was transported to the Sultanate on Sunday evening in preparation for his return home."

Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France, thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos for Oman's efforts in releasing the French hostage Alain Goma, who was held in Yemen for over four and a half months.
