WHO launches global dashboard for real-time coronavirus updates

Muscat: To keep up-to-date and take the necessary measures against the spread of the novel coronavirus, the World Health Organisation has launched a real-time dashboard that will be updated with the latest developments regarding the spread of the virus and the number of persons infected around the world.

As of 31 January, 2020, however, there are no reported cases of the coronavirus in Oman, with a statement from the WHO’s Oman office saying: “As of 31 January, WHO dashboard reports no 2019 nCoV in Oman. Information is updated twice daily as cases are reported from official sources across member states.

“WHO’s real time dashboard to inform on the situation of the 2019-nCoV in the world is updated at least twice a day, at 10 am and in the evening. This data based on confirmed cases and facts,” added the WHO Oman Office.

On 30 January, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director General of the World Health Organisation, declared the spread of the novel coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern.
