Many people from the Indian community and others attended the event.
Neena Jain, who was present at the celebrations said, “I loved this so much, it was fun meeting with fellow Indians and having the delicious sweets afterwards. Occasions like these are the ones which bring the patriotic fervor back in us, so people should attend these.”
Mukhtar, another attendee said that he was delighted to hear the wonderful songs, “The songs took me back to my golden times, my younger days when I went to college and we heard these songs being played on national celebrations. I am so happy that I came here, it’s my first time and everything feels so good, just I was transferred back to India for a while. I wish fellow Indians in Oman and all across the world a very Happy Republic Day.”
The 68th Republic Day was also celebrated at Indian School Muladha. Hundreds of students, teachers, parents and community members took part in the celebrations.
The prefect council and students also displayed a stunning march past and the guard of honour was received by the chief guest and other dignitaries who were present at the school.
The national anthems of India and the Sultanate of Oman were also sung on the auspicious occasion.
