Coronavirus outbreak: Oman Airports ready for any emergency

Muscat: Oman Airports have started to follow the procedures for examining travellers coming from China and countries that have been infected with Coronavirus, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Royal Oman Police (ROP).

Speaking to Times of Oman, a top official at Oman Airports has confirmed that all airports in the country are ready for any emergency.

In a statement issued by Oman Airports said: “ In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and our strategic partners, we confirm the readiness of our airports to deal with any suspected cases of the emerging coronavirus in accordance with the international regulations and procedures taken under these circumstances.“

“Oman Airports have raised the alert status of the medical and other concerned teams at the airports,” the statement said.

“Sterilisers and protective face masks have been provided for the staff to use and to passengers who sneeze, cough, or carry any similar symptoms,” the statement added.
