Indian nationals in Oman who are travelling home to India will soon be able to only buy a single litre of spirits and just 100 cigarettes.

This will come through if the new plans being discussed by India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry comes in to effect.

Currently, passengers who arrive in India from overseas can purchase two litres of liquor and 100 for personal consumption.

The number of cigarettes had been previously cut from 200 to 100, the value of goods should also not exceed INR 50,000 (OMR 270).
