Heavy rains expected over Oman

Muscat: Weather analysis at the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center indicates that the Sultanate will be affected by a trough of low pressure starting from Thursday till Sunday the 12th, Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), said.

A statement issued online by PACA said, “Chances of rain showers of various intensities, occasionally thundershowers, expected to start from Thursday night affecting Musandam governorate and extending on Friday to affect Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Muscat, Al Dakhliyah, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah governorates.”

Sea conditions will be moderate to rough along most of the Sultanate's coasts with wave heights between 1.5 to 2.5 meters.

The PACA advised all to take precautions during the rains and not to cross Wadis and to check the sea state before sailing.
