Session focuses on enhancing business skills

Muscat: For the benefit of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s), a special talk entitled 'Business Orientation for Success' was delivered recently at Maharat Oman, a premier training institute at KOM (Knowledge Oasis Muscat) that offers a business acceleration programme 'TASARA'.
'TASARA' trains the participants to achieve faster growth, try for innovation, improve performance standards, prepare for the overall development and thus nurture the Omani talent to become useful tools in the process of nation-building.
A. V. Manohar, the ex-Chief Financial Officer of Oman & Emirates Investment Holding Co, a finance professional and a trainer on personal skills shared various tips towards enhancing the managerial abilities of entrepreneurs operating in different sectors including oil and gas, logistics, renewable energy, hospitality, facility and waste management. 'Do business with confidence, competence and clarity' was the core principle that should be ingrained in the minds of business owners and systematic practice of the key principles shall lead to miraculous results, over some time.
A complete knowledge of the business should encompass the products being handled, process being followed, people being placed, materials being carried, customers being serviced, competition being assessed, logistics being managed, pricing being fixed, cashflow being monitored, ratios & returns being analysed, MIS & budget being reviewed, risks being mitigated and last but not the least, ethics being observed. 'Know well to do well', the sane advice that serves well to be in the fast track of business.
While stepping into the business, a complete overhauling of the inner personality is to be carried out. A positive orientation, bubbling enthusiasm, unbridled passion, friendly interaction, thinking high, adding value, expanded vision, fighting spirit and adherence to values shall be the guideposts towards achieving excellence in the journey.
