Muscat: A workshop for professionals of photography was held at Al Wahiba Sands in Bidiya, North Al Sharqiyah, which saw participation by the elderly and children of desert residents.

The Al Sharqiyah Sand photography workshop provided photographers the opportunity to be among the sand dunes, where almost 40 Omani photographers participated in the workshop in the presence of Ricardo Bossi, President of the International Federation of Photography.

Ricardo expressed great happiness for being in the sands of Al Wahiba and thanked the organising committee for their efforts for organising and preparing the place and the appropriate environment for the Omani photographers.

Photographer Samir bin Isa Al Busaidi, EFiap, and photographer Salem bin Sultan Al Hajri were the organisers of workshop, and stated, “We aspire to create an appropriate climate and place for male and female photographers to have great opportunities in photographing the desert environment and to deliver a message about the beauty of the place and the good treatment of the residents of the desert."

Photographer Saeed Al Shuaili, AFiap, stated: "The workshop is a great opportunity to meet with photographers from within the Sultanate and learn of different experiences in the field of photography especially from the participants who are from different art schools and it is also an opportunity to document the life of the desert so that the photographer can produce results that qualify for global competition.”
