There was more than double the number of female students enrolled from grades 5 to 11 in public schools in Oman compared to male students in 2018.

Moreover, the number of female graduates from higher educations in 2017/2018 was about one-and-half times the number of male graduates.

This information was revealed by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

There were 335,293 students enrolled in the Sultanate’s public schools from grades 5 to 11 of which only 28 percent were males and 70 percent females.

The remaining two percent were non-Omanis.
