Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has warned residents and citizens against watching the solar eclipse with naked eyes.
A rare solar eclipse will be visible over the Oman skies on December 26, a spectacle that last took place in the country more than 100 years ago.
According to MOH, watching the annular solar eclipse with naked eyes could damage the eyes and even cause blindness.
“Observers should use proper equipment to view the event and also ensure that children are also protected with proper filtered glasses before watching,” MOH said in a statement.
