Two people die of drowning in Oman

Muscat: A person and a child were found drowned in valleys in South Al Batinah and Muscat governorates, the Public Authority of Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA) announced.

A statement issued online by PACDA on Friday said, “The Authority’s Operations Center received a report that a person had drowned in Al Haqouen valley, in Al Rustaq, in South Al Batinah Governorate. He was brought out from the valley dead.”

PACDA also said, “The Authority’s operations center received a report of a child drowning in Al Khoud valley in Al Seeb in the Governorate of Muscat. He was found dead."

The Authority called on all parents to monitor their children while hiking near valleys and water bodies to avoid painful drowning accidents, especially when valleys are flowing.
