ACT, LC Tech, OCT Al Hail and Aptus Waves score victories

Muscat: Madhur Bhatnagar struck a sizzling century to lead ACT’s mammoth 292-run win over OCT Amerat in a B Division mismatch at Muscat Municipality ground 1 in Amerat on Friday.

ACT piled up 332 for 7 in 30 overs thanks to brilliant batting by Bhatnagar (106), Vikas Sharma (47), Shahid Mahmood (44) and Rooswin Anto (44). Said Haider and Perviz Abdul Qader took two wickets each.

Puneet Mehta bowled an amazing spell of 4.2-2-2-4, leading to OCT Amerat’s dismissal for 40 in the 16th over. Rajesh Devashya bagged 2 for 14.

Sajeev stars in LC Tech’s victory

In another B Division clash, Sajeev Sathyanandan picked up 4 for 13 to power LC Tech to an exciting 4-wicket victory against OCT Ruwi at Muscat Municipality ground 2.

OCT Ruwi failed to post a big total on the board, getting bundled out for 151 in 28.2 overs. Waseem Ismail (30) and Nawed Abdulmajeed were the only notable scorers. Apart from Sajeev, Raghunath Masanam and Nishanth Menon also bowled well, taking two wickets each.

LC Tech looked well on the way to a comfortable win at 90 for 1 before a sudden middle order collapse saw it slump to 102 for 5. The Tech boys, however, recovered well to secure victory in the 26th over, scoring 152 for 6. Ashok Patel and Ravindu Weeramuni scored 44 and 25 respectively.

Brief Scores (C Division): OCT Al Hail 129 for 7 in 20 overs (Younis Rahim 47 – 6x4, Waleed Rahim 34 – 2x4, Shoaib Mohammed 2-21) beat Modern MRAQ 128 for 9 in 20 overs (Rashid Mohammed 48 – 1x4, Mohamed Siddiq 3-30, Hisam Shafi 2-23) by 1 run.
