Is your bread being made the right way?

Bakers in Oman will need to ensure the bread they bake are up to new standards set by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, or face fines.

The news comes after the Minister of Commerce and Industry, issued a ministerial decision to regulate the quality of bread made in the Sultanate.

“The Omani standard specifications for bread determines general requirements for all types of bread made of wheat flour or mixed with other types of cereal flour. The standard specifications do not include other types used for special food purposes.”

The specification also list the items required to make bread.
