Tropical depression develops into a storm, gets a name

The tropical depression which is moving towards the centre of the Arabian Sea had developed into a tropical storm, according to Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation.

In a statement, PACA also announced that the storm has been officially named Pavan.

“The deep tropical depression centered southwest of the Arabian Sea is developed into a tropical storm. It is named Pavan, with wind speeds around the center 34-40 knots. It is still heading towards Somalia.” - Public Authority for Civil Aviation
